News & Events Gifting of caradi to TMAG, 2011

On January 12, 2011 the Alcorso Foundation gifted a unique collaborative work by Tasmanian Aboriginal Artist Lola Greeno and Tasmanian Designer and Art Maker, Natalie Holtsbaum to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Their collaborative work caradi was the culmination of long communication about histories, ancestry, tradition and hopes for the future.

At the Foundation's ninth annual fundraising dinner in October 2010 the Foundation's guests pooled together funds amounting to $10,000 to gift caradi as a unique work for its future contemporary collection.  The event held at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery on January 12th celebrated the generosity of the Foundation's friends and supporters culminating in a formal presentation of the work caradi by the Foundations Arts Committee Chair, Pat Cleveland OA to the TMAG's Director Bill Bleathman.
